Dan Champeau

Dan Champeau, Global Head of Ratings Data & Research, focuses on connecting customers’ needs to the Fitch Ratings products offered, designing and delivering compelling value propositions.

His extensive knowledge of the ratings process and long history of leadership within Fitch Ratings makes him an ideal liaison between the two businesses, allowing Fitch Solutions to develop compelling strategies around the creation and delivery of ratings, research and data. Collaboration between Fitch Ratings and Fitch Solutions is key to ensuring that content from Fitch Ratings continues to meet the needs of our clients.

Dan has more than 20 years of experience in credit ratings, having held many senior analytical and business roles at Fitch Ratings over his career. Most recently he was Managing Director and Global Group Head of Public Finance & Infrastructure where he oversaw a team of 250 analysts in 15 offices globally that was responsible for analyzing approximately 5,000 debt issuers. Previously, Dan was head of the Business and Relationship Management group for public finance/infrastructure. He has also worked at Financial Security Assurance and Ambac. Dan earned an M.B.A. in Finance from San Francisco State University, a B.A. from the University of Maryland College Park, and graduated from the Hearst Management Institute.
