Tara E. Nicola

Tara’s practice focuses on the defense of clients in complex litigation, with an emphasis in products liability and commercial litigation, and routinely represents Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 companies in these types of cases in state and federal courts throughout the country. Tara has extensive experience litigating these claims in a wide variety of industries including aerospace, pharmaceutical, medical device, consumer care and automotive parts. Tara actively represents these clients in all phases of litigation, including trial. Tara has represented clients in consolidated mass tort actions and federal multi district litigation and acts as coordinating counsel for clients in matters abroad.

Tara has counseled clients on the sensitive issue of handling e-discovery, developing and implementing document retention policies, leading electronic discovery retention, collection and production. She has extensive experience in preparing witnesses for depositions, defending and taking witness depositions, and working with highly technical experts in anticipation of deposition and trial testimony. Tara has achieved favorable settlements in high exposure litigation including wrongful death and significant personal injury claims.

Tara received her Juris Doctor from Seton Hall University, cum laude¸in 2003 and is a member of the Order of the Coif. Tara is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey state court as well as the United States District Court of New Jersey, the Southern, Eastern and Western District Courts of New York and the United States District Court of Colorado.

Tara is a member of the American Bar Association and a vice chair of the Air and Space Committee. Tara has been named one of New Jersey’s Rising Stars” in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015.
