Elena Yau

Elena Yau has extensive work experience in the field of information technology. Elena began their career at Five Acres--The Boys' and Girls' Aid Society of Los Angeles in 2006, where they held several positions including Assistant Director of Information Technology, Lead Information Technician, and Information Technician II. In these roles, they were responsible for implementing network improvements, developing an internal Intranet, and performing major system upgrades. Elena also played a key role in enhancing communication and project dissemination within the organization. In 2015, Elena joined Posey Company as a Senior Network / Systems Engineer, where they successfully migrated a HyperV environment to VMware and introduced NetApp and Veeam technologies. Elena also managed security remediation efforts and coordinated incident response. In their most recent role as Director of Information Technology at Five Acres, Elena focused on advancing the organization's systems and network infrastructure for cyber security best practices. Elena also served as a project manager for financial, risk compliance, and clinical outcome dashboards and reporting.

Elena Yau completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Science at the University of Southern California from 2002 to 2004. Elena then pursued further education at Claremont Graduate University, where they are currently enrolled for a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Administration and Management, General.

In addition to their formal education, Elena has also obtained several certifications. In 2019, they earned certifications in Leadership Blind Spots, Start with Why: How Great Leaders Inspire Everyone to Take Action (Blinkist Summary), Working with an Executive Coach, Communicating with Diplomacy and Tact, Managing Depression in the Workplace, Delivering Bad News Effectively, Managing a Multigenerational Workforce, and Motivating and Engaging Employees. These certifications were obtained through LinkedIn.
