Nathan Martins has worked in the field of basketball coaching since 2007. Nathan began their career as the Men's Assistant Basketball Coach at Elms College, followed by a role as the Head Boy's Basketball Coach at East Longmeadow High School from 2009 to 2012. In 2012, they became the Head Boys' Varsity Basketball Coach at Rockville High School, where they developed a First-Team All-American and NABC New England Player-of-the-Year, as well as four players who went on to play college basketball. Also in 2012, they took on the role of Head Boys Basketball Coach at Northampton High School. From 2016 to 2017, they worked as a School Adjustment Counselor at the Lower Pioneer Valley Educational Collaborative, where they guided and counseled students in the development of academic, college/career, and personal/social life goals. Since 2017, they have been the Associate Head Men's Basketball Coach at Westfield State University. Additionally, from 2007 to 2016, they held various roles at Five-Star Basketball, including Head Coach/Head Regional Recruiter and Recruiter/Coach.
Nathan Martins obtained a Master's in Social Work from Westfield State University between 2011 and 2013, and a Bachelor's in Social Work/Psychology from the same institution between 2007 and 2011. In 2015, they obtained a USA Youth Development Basketball Coach certification from USA Basketball. Additionally, they hold a CT teachers certification from the Department of Education Connecticut, a Connecticut School Social Worker certification from the Connecticut State Department of Education, and a Massachusetts Teachers Educational Licenseure.
