John Dunlap has a strong and diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. John is currently the Chief Executive Officer at Five Star Parks and Attractions. Previously, they served as the Park President at SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment.
Before that, they were the President & CEO at Iconic Attractions Group, where they led a wide range of projects globally, including entrepreneurial ventures, educational institutions, and non-profit organizations. In this role, they developed strategic blueprints for business transformations and oversaw various aspects such as strategy, marketing, operations, compliance, safety, security, and corporate sponsorships.
Prior to that, John was the Executive Director at San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance, where they managed a well-known zoological institution with a large team of union employees and oversaw the park's financials, food and beverage outlets, and retail stores.
John also held the position of Hotel Manager at The Westin St. Francis San Francisco on Union Square and Director of Operations at The Westin Crown Center. In these roles, they managed hotel operations, including meeting spaces, F&B outlets, and guest services.

John Dunlap received a BA with Distinction in Latin American Studies from the University of Virginia from 1995 to 1998. John then went on to earn an MBA in Business Administration and Management from the Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management from 2007 to 2009. In addition, they obtained several certifications from Cornell University including an Executive Leadership Certificate in 2006, a Financial Management Certificate in 2005, and a Food Service Management Master Certificate in 2005.
