Lisa Cooney is the Senior Vice President and General Counsel at Five Star Senior Living. Lisa has over 25 years of experience in the legal field. Prior to their current position, they were the Event Coordinator for ArtPride New Jersey Foundation and the Production & Residency Coordinator for Newark Symphony Hall (Newark Performing Arts Corporation).
Lisa Cooney grew up in New Jersey and graduated from Rutgers University with a degree in political science. Lisa then went on to earn their law degree from Seton Hall University School of Law. After working in private practice for a few years, they decided to move into the non-profit sector.
Lisa has been instrumental in lobbying state and federal legislators to ensure their continued support for public funding of the arts & humanities. Lisa has also coordinated events for ArtPRIDE, including an annual ArtPRIDE Member Congress, Arts & Humanities Advocacy Day at the State Building in Trenton, and fundraisers. In addition, they have negotiated and written contracts, created season brochures and targeted marketing materials, maintained databases, and assisted in the preparation and writing of grant proposals.
Lisa is a dedicated advocate for the arts and humanities. Lisa is passionate about their work and committed to making a difference in their community.
Lisa Cooney has a Bachelor's degree in Art/Art Studies, General from Rutgers University.
