Margaret Unger has been working as a Software Developer since 1999. From 1999 to 2006, they worked at Flaga ehf. as a Software Developer. From 2006 to 2018, they worked at Libra Financial Solutions (Libra ehf.) as a Software Developer. Margaret is currently working at five°degrees as a Software Developer. Prior to their current roles, they were a Software Developer (Co-op Student) at Newbridge Networks from 1998 to 1999, at Precise Software Technologies Inc. from 1997 to 1998, and at Object Technology International from 1996 to 1997. During their time at Newbridge Networks, they developed Automatic Protection Switching (redundancy) software for the 36170 Mainstreet ATM telecommunications switch, designed, implemented, and tested SNMP retrieval of congestion statistics from traffic-carrying linecards, and participated in the Design Verification stage of a major 36170 system release. At Precise Software Technologies Inc., they worked on embedded systems software using a multitasking operation system and TCP/IP, dealt directly with hardware throughout the course of product development, and completed projects such as two servers, extensive modification to a monitor program, and a floppy disk device driver. At Object Technology International, they contributed to the design and development of an object-oriented framework and user interface for a generic application development tool, implemented internal automatic consistency verification, wrote a large variety of utility code with the application framework, and created a complete multimedia demonstration application for sound files, CDs, and video.
Margaret Unger received their Bachelor of Computer Science from Carleton University in 1999. Margaret then went on to earn their Master's degree in Computer Science from Háskóli Íslands in 2008.
