Baran Özkan, CAMS

Baran Ozkan is a highly experienced professional with a diverse background in product management and leadership roles. Baran is currently the Co-Founder and CEO of Flagright, where they have developed a flexible, no-code platform for financial institutions that aids in preventing financial crime and ensuring AML compliance. In this role, Baran has successfully introduced various features such as real-time transaction monitoring, customer risk scoring, and case management.

Prior to their current position, Baran served as a Mentor at Women Go Tech, where they provided guidance and support to individuals in the technology industry. Baran also worked at TransferGo as the Director of Product - Apps & Platform, overseeing B2C and B2B products and playing a key role in driving product strategy, team performance, and revenue growth. During their time at TransferGo, Baran achieved significant milestones such as delivering record-breaking transaction volumes and growing the B2B segment revenue by over 30%.

Before TransferGo, Baran worked as a Senior Product Manager at Forto, where they led the development of the booking experience and implemented innovative pricing solutions in collaboration with Maersk, a leading ocean carrier. Baran also had a brief stint as the Co-Founder and CEO of Audiotap, an AI-powered travel companion project.

Baran's expertise in product management extends to their previous role as a Product Manager at Zalando SE, where they built scalable data tools and performed product owner responsibilities. Baran also gained valuable experience at Florida Blue, where they held positions such as Product Manager and IT Project Lead, playing a crucial role in enhancing products, defining strategies, and implementing Microsoft O365 Cloud Suite.

Baran's work experience is complemented by their involvement in a Product Management Bootcamp at ASI Global. Baran has a proven track record of delivering exceptional results, driving revenue growth, and building high-performing teams.

Baran Ozkan, CAMS, has a diverse education history. Baran obtained their Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Industrial Engineering from Bilkent University in 2013. Later, they pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Engineering Management at the University of South Florida, completing it in 2015.

In addition to their academic degrees, Baran Ozkan has obtained several certifications. Baran became a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) through ACAMS in December 2021. Baran also completed a course in Service Design at the University of the Arts London in March 2021.

Furthermore, Baran Ozkan has pursued various other certifications and programs throughout their career. Baran completed the Startup School Future Founders program offered by Y Combinator in December 2020. In April 2020, they obtained certifications in FinTech Security and Regulation, as well as Finance for Non-Financial Professionals through Coursera. In May 2018, they completed the Data Science Professional Program offered by Microsoft and acquired a certification in Topline KPIs: Sales Waterfall from Zalando SE.

Lastly, in December 2014, Baran Ozkan obtained certifications in Technology Change Management and Total Quality Management (TQM) from the University of South Florida.
