Melanie Amen has held various roles in the scientific field since 2004. Melanie began their career as a Student Research Assistant at Texas A&M University in 2004, followed by a Research Assistant position at the Texas A&M Health Science Center in 2005. From 2008 to 2013, they were a Graduate Research Assistant at UTHSCSA and a Postdoctoral Scientist at the Texas Biomedical Research Institute from 2013 to 2014. Melanie then joined Asuragen as a Field Product Manager and Sales Support Specialist from 2014 to 2017. After that, they were a Business Development Manager at Cancer Genetics, Inc. from 2017 to 2019. Most recently, they have been a Director, Scientific Affairs and Associate Director, Business Development and Biopharma Services at Interpace Biosciences since 2019, and is currently the Director Scientific Affairs at Flagship Biosciences, Inc.
Melanie Amen obtained their Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from Texas A&M University between 2001 and 2005. Melanie then went on to obtain their Doctor of Philosophy in Microbiology and Immunology from UT Health San Antonio between 2008 and 2013.
