Murillo Silva

Murillo Silva is a highly experienced professional in the field of immunology and engineering, currently serving as a Senior Associate at Flagship Pioneering since September 2025. Previously, Murillo held the position of Principal Scientist in Immune Engineering at Moderna from February 2023 to August 2025, and was a Senior Scientist at SQZ Biotechnologies from April 2021 to January 2023. Murillo's early career includes roles as a Postdoctoral Fellow and Associate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology between July 2017 and April 2021, and as a PhD Candidate in Immunology at Northeastern University from May 2013 to June 2017. Murillo's research focused on innovative vaccination strategies targeting immune response pathways. Additional experience includes roles at Biogen Idec as a Chemical Engineering Intern and Powerspan Corp. as a Chemical Engineering Co-Op. Murillo holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering and a Doctor of Philosophy in Immunology, both from Northeastern University.
