Timothy Hirzel

Timothy Hirzel is a seasoned professional in software engineering and data science with extensive experience across various industries. Currently serving as Senior Director of Data at Flagship Pioneering since July 2024, Timothy previously held multiple leadership roles at Zapata Computing from May 2018 to July 2024, including Product Director and Chief Product Officer. At Kyulux, Timothy contributed as a Consulting Software Engineer and later as Director of Software and Data Engineering, facilitating advancements in molecular discovery and machine learning. Earlier experience includes a Senior Software Engineer position at Harvard University, where Timothy developed systems for high throughput virtual screening, and a Software Engineer role at Resonon Inc., focusing on hyperspectral imaging software. Timothy holds a Master’s degree from the MIT Media Lab and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Harvard University.
