Salvatore J. Dimartino

Salvatore J. DiMartino is Executive Vice President, Chief of Staff to the CEO, and Director of Investor Relations of New York Community Bancorp, Inc. has joined the Company in April 2015. In addition to his Chief of Staff responsibilities, he also oversees Investor Relations and Shareholder Outreach.

Prior to joining NYCB, Mr. DiMartino served as Co-Chief Executive Officer at First Central Savings Bank beginning April 2013, where he also served as Executive Vice President and Chief Enterprise Risk Officer beginning March 2012 and Senior Risk Officer beginning March 2010. During his five years here, he successfully recapitalized the bank, reduced the level of problem loans, improved liquidity, and returned the bank to profitability.

He also served at Banco Santander from June 2008 to March 2010 as a Managing Director in their US Corporate Strategy Department. In this role, he identified potential bank acquisitions in the U.S. and was instrumental in Santander’s acquisition of Sovereign Bancorp.
