Jan Van Der Schueren

Jan Van Der Schueren is currently the Director at Flanders.healthTech. Prior to this, they worked as the Site Head at Galapagos from January 2020 to June 2021. Jan has also held the positions of Senior Program Director, Senior Director Discovery Informatics, and Director Discovery Informatics at Galapagos from 2011 to 2019. Jan started their career as a Post-doctoral fellow at KU Leuven in 1997 and has since then worked their way up in the field of bioinformatics.

Jan Van Der Schueren earned their PhD in Biotechnology from Katholieke Universiteit Leuven. Jan also holds a Master's degree in Engineer in Chemistry and Agricultural Industries from the same school. Additionally, they studied Greek-mathematics at OLV College in Halle, Belgium.
