Katlijn Mertens has extensive experience in business strategy and management, currently serving as the Global Industry Lead for Food & Beverages, Agriculture, and Food Technology at Flanders Investment & Trade from October 2020 to January 2024, while also functioning as an International Business Strategy Consultant. Additionally, Katlijn has been an independent business owner since November 2007, focusing on C-level management roles encompassing product development, branding, sourcing, and market expansion. Previous roles include independent board member at Bike Republic, advisory board member at PPRetail, and Chief Product and Marketing Officer at LolaLiza. Katlijn Mertens holds a Global Management degree from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a Business Administration degree from IE Business School, both completed in 2015.
