Ben Upton attended Tennessee Technological University from 1993 to 1994, where they studied Horticultural Science. In 1994, they transferred to Western Kentucky University and pursued a degree in Turf and Turfgrass Management until 1997. During this time, they did not obtain a specific degree. In 1997, they attended Purdue University and completed a Certificate of Completion in Turf and Turfgrass Management.
