Head of Engineering at Flare Bright

Carl Sequeira has a diverse work experience in various engineering roles. Carl is currently the Head of Engineering at Flare Bright, where they lead a multi-disciplinary team and provides technical, managerial, and strategic leadership. Prior to this, Carl worked at Hybrid Air Vehicles Ltd as a Senior Flight Sciences Engineer, where they contributed to various technical disciplines such as design, software development, weight monitoring, and aerodynamic design. Carl has also worked as a Teaching By-Fellow in Engineering at Churchill College, University of Cambridge, a Research Associate at the University of Cambridge, and as an Undergraduate Supervisor at the University of Cambridge. Furthermore, Carl has gained research experience at ONERA, Rolls-Royce, and the von Karman Institute for Fluid Dynamics. Carl also had a summer internship at Edwards, where they worked on new product development.

Carl Sequeira has an extensive education history. Carl obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Hydrodynamics of tidal stream turbines from the University of Cambridge, where they studied from 2010 to 2014. Prior to that, they pursued a Master 2 degree (Equivalent to MSc) in Fluid mechanics from École Polytechnique, from 2009 to 2010.

Before their master's degree, Carl completed their Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) and Master of Engineering (MEng) degrees in General Engineering: Aerospace and Aerothermal Engineering from the University of Cambridge, where they studied from 2005 to 2009.

Additionally, in October 2015, Carl Sequeira obtained the certification of Chartered Engineer (CEng) from the Institution of Mechanical Engineers.
