Alfonso Fernandez

Engineering Intern at FlashCut CNC

Alfonso Fernandez has extensive experience in robotics and engineering education. Currently serving as the Head Robotics Coach at Northridge Preparatory School since its founding in 2016, Alfonso oversees teams participating in both the FIRST Tech Challenge and FIRST Lego League. Alongside this role, Alfonso has been an Engineering Intern at FlashCut CNC since June 2018. As a graduate student at Northwestern University, Alfonso is pursuing a PhD in Mechanical Engineering and has contributed as a Graduate Research Assistant in the Neuroscience and Robotics Lab. Previous roles include Research Assistant in the same lab, Spanish Tutor, Lab Aide at the High Throughput Analysis Lab, and Karate Instructor at Fonseca Martial Arts. Alfonso earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Northwestern University in 2017 and holds a High School Diploma from Northridge Preparatory School.
