Andrew Shinohara

Andrew Shinohara is a seasoned engineering executive currently serving as the VP of Engineering for Platform at Flatiron Health since February 2023. Previously, Andrew held the position of Senior Director of Engineering at Invitae from April 2018 to February 2023, where leadership focused on strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing health outcomes for over 2.5 million patients through genetic testing. Throughout Andrew's career, experience spans various roles, including founding the data engineering team at Invitae, and contributing as a Senior Software Engineer at Helix, where gaps in operational metrics and data processing were effectively addressed. Andrew's background includes roles at Pointed Logic Solutions, Northrop Grumman, and SAIC, coupled with an educational foundation consisting of an M.S. in Bioinformatics from The Johns Hopkins University and a B.S. in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Arizona.
