Cleo A. Ryals, PhD, is currently the Head of Health Equity Research at Flatiron Health, a position held since January 2022. Previously, Ryals served as the Founding Director of the Centering Racial Equity in Data Science (CREDS) Initiative at UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center from September 2020 to December 2021. Ryals also held multiple academic roles at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, including Tenured Associate Professor and Assistant Professor of Health Policy and Management from July 2014 to December 2021. Additional experience includes roles at Harvard Medical School as a Graduate Research Assistant and various analyst and consultant positions in organizations such as the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Cleo A. Ryals earned a PhD in Health Policy from Harvard University and completed undergraduate studies in Psychology and Biology at the University of Miami.
