Somasundar Nair is the Director of the Fleet Personnel department, responsible for the global staffing of more than 600 vessels under the technical management.
Somasundar started his sea career in 1989 after graduating from TS Jawahar and rose to the rank of Master in 2002. During his time at sea, he sailed on a wide range of ships, including tankers, general cargo vessels, container ships and bulk carriers, before moving ashore in 2005. He joined FLEET in 2021.
An ardent sportsman, Somasundar strongly believes in discipline and teamwork. He is passionate about developing people and engaging with them for the best outcome and believes in handling situations with a humane touch.
Somasundar holds a degree in Nautical Science from South Tyneside College, UK.
