Stephen Helwig is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in optics and exterior lighting. Currently serving as Manager of Optics Engineering at Flex-N-Gate since January 2019, Stephen leads a team of optics engineers to develop lighting solutions for various OEMs, including Ford, FCA, and VW. Prior to this role, Stephen worked at Ford from October 1988 to December 2018 as Engineering Supervisor for Exterior Lighting, overseeing the engineering process from initial artistic concepts to production. Stephen holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Kettering University and both a Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering and a Master's degree in Electrical and Computer Control Systems from Wayne State University.
