Yening Dong

Yening Dong is currently employed as a Software Engineer at Flexport since August 2022. Prior to this role, Yening worked as a Machine Learning Engineer at Shopee from August 2021 to April 2022, and as a Student Research Assistant at Wuhan University of Technology from December 2018 to June 2019, where a pedestrian detection system was developed using Faster R-CNN with VGG and Res-Net in Pytorch. Earlier experience includes an internship as an Electrical Engineer at Wuhan Xuanneng Clean Energy Technology Co., Ltd., where Yening created a suspended-load backpack generating electricity through body movement, and a Software Engineer Internship at Preh-Joyson focused on developing an inter-process communication module in C++. Yening holds a Master's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from UC San Diego (2019-2021) and dual Bachelor's degrees in Automotive Engineering from Wuhan University of Technology and Economics from Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, both completed in 2019.
