Matt Bushlow

Matt Bushlow is a communications professional with over 19 years of experience. Matt began their career as an English as a Foreign Language Teacher for the Peace Corps in 2002. Matt then worked as a Publicist for the Emily Post Institute in 2005, a Freelance Copywriter, Publicist, and Editor from 2005-2010, a Contributor for Wired Digital in 2010, a Contributing Writer for Seven Days in 2009, a Music Contributor for Vermont Public Radio in 2010, a Communications Specialist for The University of Vermont Medical Center from 2013-2019, and a Communications Manager for Marathon Health from 2019-2021. In 2021, they took on the role of Senior Project Manager for Flimp Communications. During their time at Marathon Health, they managed a team of 3-6 communications professionals who produced patient-focused materials for a $100M company with more than 150 near- and on-site health centers in 40 states. At The University of Vermont Medical Center, they developed and implemented communications plans and strategy for internal and external clients to various audiences, all aligned with UVM Medical Center's strategic plan. At Children's Literacy Foundation, they directed and managed external communications, including media relations, email marketing, social media, print newsletter, web content, editorial content for publication in local and regional outlets, annual report, and annual appeal.
