Katja Berkhout

Katja Berkhout has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries.

Katja is currently the Managing Director Europe at Fliteboard, a rapidly growing Australian company that specializes in electric hydrofoil surfboards.

Prior to this, they owned and operated their own business called Empowering Innovators, which they ran from 2017 to 2020.

Katja also served as the International Director at TechLeap.NL (formerly StartupDelta) from 2017 to 2019, where they played a key role in promoting innovation and entrepreneurship.

Earlier in their career, they were the Executive Director of Venture Café - Rotterdam, where they successfully adapted the American Venture Café Foundation model to the Dutch business culture. This role lasted from 2016 to 2017.

In addition, Katja has held positions in organizations such as StartupDelta, Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency, Ministerie van Economische Zaken, Berenschot, and VNG International, where they gained valuable experience in areas such as international business, consultancy, and project management.

Katja Berkhout earned their drs./MA degree in Contemporary History and International Politics from the University of Groningen from 1998 to 2003. Katja'sfield of study focused on Contemporary History and Law (P).
