Apetsi Ampiah

Apeti Ampiah is a Senior Software Engineer at Float. Apetsi has previous experience working as a Software Developer and Frontend Developer. Apetsi also spent time as a Research Intern at Architecture Design & Research Institute of Tongji University (Group) Co., Ltd.

Ampiah has contributed to a 50% reduction in test runtimes and sped up run times of Petra’s CI flow across the project by introducing parallel testing. Apetsi has also collaborated with Product Managers and Engineers to build a CRM app to support internal business teams in serving 350K+ end users from 5000+ companies using Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL and by employing TDD techniques. In addition, they have spearheaded the timely resolution of over 30 bugs across the Ruby on Rails codebase by collaborating with 2 engineers to refactor backend codes.

Furthermore, Ampiah led the migration of 5M records of company and customer data from a CRM database to an AWS PostgreSQL database on a new platform. Lastly, they built the capacity of 6 engineers in ownership and public-speaking and fostered team collaboration by introducing rotations between engineers to lead daily stand ups; 50 rotation cycles completed.

Apeti Ampiah's educational career includes a Full Stack Web Development & Computer Science certification from BloomTech, a Master of Science in Structural Engineering from Tongji University, a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Kwame Nkrumah'​ University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, and various certifications from Coursera and the Ghana Institute of Engineers.
