John Verbakel

John Verbakel has a robust work history in the research and development field. John currently holds the position of Chief Research & Development Officer at Upfield since July 2018. Prior to that, they served as the Vice President of Research & Development Baking, Cooking & Spreads at Unilever from April 2018 to June 2020. John also held various roles at Unilever from 2008 to 2016, including Vice President of R&D Operational Excellence, Vice President of Savory & Beverages Supply Chain The Americas, and Vice President of R&D Europe.

John Verbakel completed their education at Utrecht University from 1977 to 1984. John earned a Drs degree in Biology & Chemistry, as well as a Dr degree in Molecular Biotechnology.
