Marit Balkema

Marit Balkema is a Senior Associate at Florent since April 2022, specializing in corporate litigation, corporate governance, and liability. Prior experience includes a Senior Associate role at Rutgers & Posch from March 2020 to February 2022, and several positions at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer from September 2015 to February 2020, where Marit worked in corporate law and EU regulatory affairs. An internship at the Consulate of the Netherlands in Rio de Janeiro involved assisting Dutch companies during the Rio2016 Olympic & Paralympic Games. Marit holds multiple law degrees, including a Postgraduate degree in Corporate and Business Law from Grotius Academie, as well as LLM degrees in Corporate Law and European Law from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and Utrecht University, respectively, along with a Bachelor of Laws from Utrecht University. Additionally, Marit completed the Beroepsopleiding Advocaten and Law Firm School between 2015 and 2018.
