Christel Carlson Berg has been working in the software engineering field since 1990. Christel began their career at Siemens as a Co-Op Software Engineer. After that, they worked at Vector International as a Software Engineer, where they built client-server SCADA control systems and led the design and development of a sockets-based license management system. Christel then worked at Dexus Technologies as a Software Engineer.

In 1999, Christel began working at Amazon.com as a Software Engineering Manager for Seller Success, where they led the Seller Success program. Christel then became a 2 Pizza Team Lead for Zeitgeist, where they introduced an agile development process and drove operational improvements. Christel also worked as a Software Engineering Manager for Ordering and a Software Engineer for Ordering.

Christel then became a Senior Software Engineer for Softlines Tech, where they productionized an experimental machine learning technique and built a data pipeline to classify softlines items into relevant browse categories.

In 2017, Christel started working at Floreo as a Principal Software Engineer.

Christel Carlson Berg attended Haines City High School from 1985 to 1988. Christel then attended the University of Florida from 1988 to 1994, where they received a BS in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Computer Engineering. In 2014, they obtained a Coursera Course Certificate for The Data Scientist's Toolbox. Christel also obtained a Coursera Course Certificate for R Programming in 2014, and a Coursera Course Certificate for Machine Learning in 2016.
