Deidre Melton

Deidre Melton serves as the Associate Vice President for Audit and Chief Risk Officer at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, a position held since January 2014, and has also fulfilled roles as Audit Director and Internal Auditor & Investigator within the institution. Prior to this, Deidre worked at the Florida Auditor General from April 2006 to January 2014 as a Lead Senior Auditor, focusing on information technology audits for educational and local government entities in Florida. Deidre's early career includes a role as a Bookkeeper at the Tallahassee-Leon Shelter, where responsibilities included full accounting functions, managing grant funding, and preparing financial reports. Deidre holds a Master of Business Administration in Finance from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, earned between 2000 and 2005.
