Anthony Abbate Aia

Anthony Abbate has a diverse work experience in the field of architecture. Anthony began their career in 1982 as an Associate Architect at Donald Singer Architect PA, where they worked until 1989. In 1990, Abbate founded their own architectural practice called Anthony Abbate Architect PA, where they served as the President. Anthony was responsible for leading and collaborating on various award-winning architectural projects.

Abbate also worked as an Instructor at Broward Community College from 1994 to 1996. Anthony then joined Florida Atlantic University in 1996 as a Professor. During their time at the university, they coordinated and taught graduate level architectural design studios, conducted research, and provided service to the university and community. Their research focused on tropical and subtropical urban design, architecture, and design for climate change.

In addition to their role as a Professor, Abbate also held several administrative positions at Florida Atlantic University. Anthony served as the Director of the Metro Lab, where they provided leadership and administration for cross-disciplinary research proposals and projects. Anthony also served as the Associate Provost for the Broward Campuses and the Director of the School of Architecture. These roles involved developing curriculum, overseeing community design activities, and providing strategic leadership.

Anthony Abbate AIA, NCARB earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture from The Catholic University of America, where they studied from 1975 to 1980. Anthony then pursued a Master of Architecture degree at Washington University in St. Louis from 1980 to 1982. In addition to their academic qualifications, they have obtained a certification titled "A.I., Machine Learning, and the Built Environment" from Harvard University in 2023.
