Jessica Lopez-Acevedo

Jessica Lopez-Acevedo, Ph.D. has extensive work experience in the field of enrollment management, recruitment, and student affairs. Jessica held various roles within different universities and educational systems throughout their career.

Starting in 1999, Dr. Lopez-Acevedo worked as a Communications Officer at Sistema Universitario Ana G. Méndez (SUAGM) until 2001. Jessica then joined Universidad del Turabo as an Associate Vice-Chancellor of Student Affairs from 2001 to 2002, where they managed daily operations, coordinated events for students, and collaborated with the Vice-Chancellor on administrative tasks.

From 2002 to 2006, they served as the Executive Assistant to the VP of Marketing and Student Affairs at SUAGM. Following that, they worked as the Director of Recruitment and Marketing at Ana G. Méndez University System USA for a year.

In 2007, Dr. Lopez-Acevedo joined Florida Atlantic University (FAU) and held various roles over the years. Jessica worked as an Associate Director of Admissions from 2007 to 2013, where they focused on admissions and recruitment. From 2013 to 2014, they held the position of Director of Enrollment Management and Academic Support Services, overseeing admissions, financial aid, and testing center. Subsequently, they served as the Director of Undergraduate Admissions from 2014 to 2018, responsible for recruitment goals and supervising a large team of staff members.

Following their tenure as Director of Undergraduate Admissions, they became the Director of Recruitment and Link Program at FAU for a brief period from 2018 to 2019. In this role, they developed and implemented a recruitment plan for transfer students. Later, they became the Director of Transfer Recruitment and Link Program until 2022, overseeing the recruitment and enrollment of transfer students and managing the FAU Link Program.

Most recently, Dr. Lopez-Acevedo held the role of Director of Online Enrollment and Student Success at Florida Atlantic University, starting in 2022. In this position, they facilitated the course commitment process, tracked course completions, and aligned learning objectives for accreditation and program reviews.

Dr. Jessica Lopez-Acevedo obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Universidad de Puerto Rico in 1993. Jessica then pursued a Master of Business Administration degree in Marketing from Universidad Metropolitana from 2001 to 2004. Later on, they completed their Master's degree in Educational Leadership in Higher Education at Florida Atlantic University from 2011 to 2014. Dr. Lopez-Acevedo continued their educational journey and obtained their Doctor of Philosophy degree in Educational Leadership in Higher Education from Florida Atlantic University in 2021.
