Assistant In Research Steacy-compton Lab at Florida Center for Reading Research (FCRR)

Cynthia Townsend is an accomplished education professional with extensive experience in research and teaching, particularly in reading interventions. Currently serving as an Assistant in the Research Steacy-Compton Lab at the Florida Center for Reading Research since February 2020, Cynthia has previously worked as a Research Assistant in the Variable Vowel Collaborative and ComptonLab at Florida State University from January 2017 to August 2022. Other significant roles include serving as an Assessor at the Wagner Lab, a Reading Researcher and Interventionist at FCRR, and a K-2 Writing and Social Studies Teacher at Imagine Schools. Cynthia holds a Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from Glenville State University, along with additional credits in Elementary Education and Teaching from Walsh University and West Virginia University.
