Michael Kester has a diverse work experience spanning different industries and roles. Michael started their political career in 2013 as a Team Member at a Chick-fil-A-Franchise, where they worked until 2016. In 2016, they joined Sys2K as a Marketing Representative until 2017. From 2017 to 2020, Michael worked as a Kitchen Manager at another Chick-fil-A-Franchise. Simultaneously, they held various roles in political organizations such as the Seminole County Young Democrats and Orange County Democratic Party. In 2018, Michael worked as a Deputy Field Organizer for Stephanie Murphy's campaign for Congress. In 2019, they served as a Student Organizer for the Florida Democratic Party and a Community Organizer for the Orange County Democratic Party. Michael was also the Vice President of the Seminole County Young Democrats during this time. Additionally, they held positions at Tracey Kagan for Florida HD 29 as a Field Director and the Florida College Democrats, where they were the Director of Membership and later became the President. Most recently, Michael worked as a Field Representative at the Progressive Turnout Project starting in 2020.
Michael Kester attended Seminole State College of Florida from 2014 to 2019, where they earned an Associate of Arts degree with a concentration in Political Science and Government.

OUR MISSION We work to advocate for Democratic values and ideals across the state. Electing Democrats at the local, statewide, and national level is our first priority. Our goal is to mobilize college students across the state in order to effect lasting change in the state of Florida. We seek to provide a network of support, resources, and materials for our chapters and members to organize the participation of all college students in the democratic process. WHAT WE'VE ACHIEVED Hundreds of students have been connected with state and local campaigns because of Florida College Democrats. Recipient of the Janet Reno Grant which aims to increase voter registration numbers. Over 25 chapters established in Florida. Over a quarter of Florida's state colleges have an active College Democrats chapter. Half of the Florida's Historically Black Colleges and Universities have an active College Democrats chapter.
