Mel Wade is an experienced technology coordinator and educator with a strong background in STEM education and technology infrastructure development. Currently serving as the Technology Coordinator and Instructor for Schools at the Florida Conference of Seventh-day Adventists since July 2018, Mel also leads Adventist Robotics as Director since 2004. Previous roles include Technology Director at Sacramento Adventist Academy, where Mel restructured the technology program, and a brief tenure as Contract Faculty at La Sierra University teaching technology classes for educators. Mel has held IT Director positions at Blue Mountain Academy, Upper Columbia Academy, and the Michigan Conference of 7th Day, focusing on technology redesign and network maintenance. Educational qualifications include a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Andrews University and an Executive Program in Mastering Design Thinking from MIT Sloan School of Management.

Florida Conference of Seventh-day Adventists® is an unincorporated, nonprofit organization which serves as the administrative body for its sisterhood of churches with emphasis on evangelism, nurturing constituents, and operating a system of schools. The Seventh-day Adventist Church is a mainstream, protestant, Bible-believing denomination with more than 17 million believers worldwide. The Florida Conference regional corporate headquarters provides resources to its members, church congregations, and the general public. The territory of Florida Conference, organized in 1893, includes the entire state except Bay, Calhoun, Escambia, Gulf, Holmes, Jackson, Okaloosa, Santa Rosa, Walton, and Washington counties which belong to Gulf States Conference. As of March 2017, more than 64,000 Adventists are Florida Conference members at 208 churches, 57 companies, and least 32 mission groups.
