John Calhoun

John Calhoun is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in public service and leadership roles across various government agencies. Currently serving as the Director of the Office of Ombudsman and Public Services at the Florida Department of Environmental Protection since January 2012, John Calhoun manages essential communication strategies between departmental leadership and its diverse stakeholders. Previously, John held significant positions within the U.S. Navy, including Chief Petty Officer for Naval Forces Europe and Chief Petty Officer for the NAVINFO Public Affairs unit. Other key roles include Program Administrator at the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and Special Liaison to the Team Leader for the Provincial Reconstruction Team in Baghdad. Educational qualifications include a BA in Political Science from Florida State University and an AA in Liberal Arts from Tallahassee State College.
