Carl Chasteen has a strong background in forensic services and analysis. Carl started their career as a Chemist II and Chemist III at the Ohio Fire Marshal in 1979, where they analyzed fire debris, explosives, latent print enhancement, and hazardous materials. Carl analyzed over 12,000 samples during their time there. In 1992, Carl joined the Florida Department of Financial Services as the Chief of Forensic Services. Under their leadership, they successfully transformed the Bureau of Forensic Fire and Explosives Analysis, eliminating a backlog of over 600 cases and significantly improving turnaround time.
