Dr. Richard Ward

Dr. Richard Ward, DBA, MBA, currently serves as the Assistant County Health Department Director for Public Health Programs at the Florida Department of Health in Duval County since September 2021, following a role as Director of General Services and Emergency Preparedness Response from January 2017 to September 2021. Prior to their tenure at the Florida Department of Health, Dr. Ward was a Manager of Operations and Data Control at CSX from January 2013 to February 2016, where responsibilities included resolving mechanical and safety issues impacting train movements. Dr. Ward's career began in the U.S. Navy, where extensive experience in leadership training, management, and development was gained from October 1987 to July 2013. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Business Administration in Leadership from Capella University, an MBA from Columbia College, and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Northwood University.
