David Mica, Jr.

David Mica, Jr. serves as the Executive Vice President of Public Affairs at the Florida Hospital Association since December 2020. Prior to this role, Mica was the Chief of Staff at the Florida Department of Children and Families from January 2019 to December 2020 and was the CEO of Volunteer Florida, an organization focused on promoting volunteerism in the state, from July 2018 to January 2019. Mica's career also includes positions such as Chief of Staff at the State of Florida Lottery and Director of Legislative Affairs at the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation. An early career in state government involved a Gubernatorial Fellowship in the Executive Office of the Governor and law clerk positions including in the Office of Policy and Budget. Mica holds a Doctor of Law (J.D.) from Florida State University College of Law and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Political Science and Government from the University of Florida.
