Amanda L. Thayer, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Industrial/Organizational Psychology at the Florida Institute of Technology since June 2020, where Amanda also serves as Portfolio Manager for Teams Research within the Institute for Culture, Collaboration, and Management. Prior to this role, Amanda was an Assistant Professor at The University of Akron from August 2015 to May 2020, directing the ACTION Lab focused on enhancing collaboration and team interactions. Amanda's earlier experience includes positions as a Graduate Research Associate and Instructor at the University of Central Florida and adjunct teaching at the Florida Institute of Technology. Amanda began a professional career as an Associate at Grubb & Ellis | Commercial Florida and as Office & Marketing Manager at Commonwealth Commercial Properties. Amanda earned a PhD in Industrial Organizational Psychology from the University of Central Florida and a BA in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from the University of North Carolina Wilmington.
