Sofia Villalobos, MS has over 20 years of work experience. Sofia began their career in 2000 as a Spanish Teacher at Chaminade Julienne High School, where they taught seven classes of introduction and conversational Spanish for up to 210 students. In 2001, they moved on to become an Academic Advisor at the University of Rhode Island, where they mentored and advised at-risk students on the verge of academic dismissal. In 2003, they took on the role of Career Development Educator and Career Coach at Johnson & Wales University, where they were a team leader in the creation of a new Career Development Curriculum. In 2005, they became the Director of Testing and Career Services at College of the Mainland, where they established national and local partnerships with businesses and industries to enhance internship and job placement opportunities. In 2007, they returned to Miami Dade College as the Director of Student Services, MDC Online, where they created new, online student support tools for over 9,000 students per semester. In 2008, they became a Consultant at The College Board. In 2012, they became the President/Owner of Staying Social, LLC, where they managed a client CRM of over 60,000 contacts. In 2017, they became the Academy Director at FIBA, where they led the formation of global partnerships, legal contracts and the development of 10 new online executive education courses. Finally, in 2022, they became a Consulting Specialist at ERMProtect, where they drove initiatives to expand the visibility and growth of ERMProtect's online programs.
Sofia Villalobos, MS, obtained their Master of Science in Human Development - College Student Personnel from the University of Rhode Island between 2001 and 2003. Prior to that, they obtained their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Mass Communication/Media Studies from Wright State University between 1996 and 2000. Additionally, they hold certifications from Freedom Seal Global (Associate Certification, obtained in October 2021), Yoga Alliance (RYT 200 - Registered Yoga Teacher 200 hours), and IESE Business School (Women on Boards of Directors).
