Joanna Garcia

Joanna Garcia is an experienced professional in higher education, currently serving as the Program Director for the Center for Leadership & Service at Florida International University since August 2010. In this role, Joanna spearheads talent development initiatives and improves operations to ensure student success, while managing team training, event planning, budgeting, policy creation, and leadership development. Previous positions at Florida International University include Assistant Director and Coordinator, where Joanna focused on designing training programs and leading operational efforts to enhance engagement and community involvement. Earlier experience includes serving as an Academic Advisor and Graduate Coordinator, along with a role as a Match Support Case Manager at BBBS Miami. Joanna holds a Master of Science in Higher Education from Florida International University and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Florida.
