Maydel Santana

Maydel Santana is a seasoned communication professional with extensive experience at Florida International University, where roles have included Associate Vice President, Assistant Vice President for Communication, and Director of Media Relations since May 2007. In these positions, Maydel has successfully built and led a highly effective communication team, driving the institution's transition to more modern media engagement strategies. Prior to this, Maydel served as Associate Director of Media Relations at Florida International University from 1995 to 2007 and worked as a general assignment reporter at The Miami Herald/el Nuevo Herald from 1992 to 1995. Maydel holds a Bachelor's degree in Communication, Journalism, and a Master's degree in Marketing from Florida International University.
