Florida Municipal Power Agency (FMPA) is a wholesale power agency owned by 31 municipal electric utilities. FMPA’s mission is to provide power that is competitively priced, reliable and clean, as well as provide value-added services for its owner-customers. Our members serve approximately two million Floridians.

Each FMPA member is locally owned and operated, but they work together on common needs. For example, by coordinating the power supply needs of several communities, the utilities can build larger, more efficient power plants and share operating expenses, all of which reduces the cost of electricity.

FMPA has six power supply projects. We supply all or some of the power 24 of our 31 members. Some cities do not purchase power from FMPA, but utilize other services from the Agency.

The Plant Operations team at the Florida Municipal Power Agency (FMPA) is responsible for managing and optimizing the performance of its power generation facilities. This includes overseeing daily operations, ensuring regulatory and environmental compliance, preparing detailed operational reports, and maintaining facility infrastructure. Team members also support engineering projects and initiatives to enhance the efficiency and reliability of power generation for FMPA's municipal utility members.
