Gregory Campbell, 36, returns to the Panthers after spending the last four seasons as a Player Development Coach in the Columbus Blue Jackets organization.
Campbell was originally selected by Florida in the third round (67th overall) of the 2002 NHL Draft. He spent six seasons with the Panthers (2003-04 to 2009-10), registering 85 points (29-56-85) over 363 regular season games. The native of London, Ontario, led the Panthers in hits for three consecutive seasons 2007-08 to 2009-10, totaling 516 hits over 218 games.
As a player, Campbell has won championships on the professional, major junior and international stages winning a Stanley Cup with the Boston Bruins in 2011, Memorial Cup and Ontario Hockey League Championship with the Kitchener Rangers in 2003 and captured the Spengler Cup with Team Canada in 2017.
Campbell won the 2002-03 Ed Chynoweth Award as the top scorer in the Memorial Cup Tournament, posting seven points (1-6-7) in four games. In that same season, he was named the Canadian Hockey League's Most Sportsmanlike Player and helped Team Canada earn a Silver Medal at the 2003 IIHF World Junior Championship.
He played 803 career NHL games for Florida, Boston (2010-11 to 2013-14) and Columbus (2015-16), recording 187 points (71-116-187).
