Director, Office Of Adaptive Services at Florida SouthWestern State College

Ashley Myatt-Chisum, M.A., M.S., has extensive experience working in a variety of educational settings. Ashley is currently the Director of the Office of ADAptive Services at Florida SouthWestern State College since May 2023. Prior to that, they held roles including Interim Director and Assistant Director of ADAptive Services at the same institution. Ashley worked as an Adaptive Services Specialist from January 2015 to November 2017.

Before their current position, Ashley worked as a Practicum Student/OPS at Florida Gulf Coast University-Center for Academic Achievement from August 2014 to December 2014. During this time, they assisted with educational programs and surveys related to academic coaching and student success workshops.

Ashley also has experience working as a Head Instructor at Wise Minds Learning Center from October 2012 to December 2014. In this role, they provided academic support to K-12 students and assisted with assessments and enrollment.

Additionally, Ashley worked as a Practicum Student at Florida Gulf Coast University-Office of New Student Programming from April 2014 to July 2014. Ashley assessed the orientation program for new college students using established standards.

Early in their career, Ashley gained experience at various organizations. Ashley worked at Alliance of Abilities from August 2006 to June 2012, assuming multiple roles such as Intern Supervisor and Training Coordinator. During this time, they provided insight into the organization and conducted trainings, among other responsibilities.

Ashley also worked as an MFT Intern at Outreach Concern from September 2010 to December 2011. In this role, they provided therapy to students in a school-based environment.

Furthermore, Ashley served as an MFT Trainee at YMCA of San Diego County in 2009. Ashley provided therapy to adults dealing with homelessness, domestic violence, and abuse.

Early in their career, Ashley volunteered as a Disabled Services Volunteer at Pegasus Farm, a Therapeutic Equestrian Center, and as a Resident Assistant/Community Educator at Mount Union College.

Ashley Myatt-Chisum, M.A., M.S. completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at the University of Mount Union from 2001 to 2005. Ashley went on to pursue a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology at Argosy University Los Angeles, which they completed from 2008 to 2011. Later, Ashley pursued another Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in College Student Affairs with a concentration in Conflict Analysis and Resolution at Nova Southeastern University from 2013 to 2015.

In addition to their academic qualifications, Ashley has obtained several certifications.
