Marissa Langston

Marissa Langston is the current Chief of Staff at Florida State University. Marissa has held this position since August of 2016. Prior to that, they were the Director of Alumni & Student Engagement at Florida State University from August 2013 to August 2016. In that role, they were responsible for strategic planning, program development, fiscal, and personnel management of all activities related to the Alumni Development Program in the College of Business (alumni engagement, annual fund program, student engagement, and event management). Marissa was also responsible for the design, coordination and execution of all activities related to the Student Engagement Program in the College of Business. These activities included, but were not limited to, the new student welcome event, the professional mentoring program, the regional representative program, local business connections, and the general management of the college’s student organizations. Marissa served as the staff advisor to the Student Leadership Council (SLC) and Women in Business (WiB). Langston also planned, coordinated, and managed the ongoing activities of all College of Business alumni advisory boards, including but not limited to the Board of Governors, and the Recent Alumni Board.

Before their role as Director of Alumni & Student Engagement, Langston was a Development Officer at Florida State University from June 2010 to September 2013. In that role, they were responsible for managing a portfolio of major gift prospects and donors for both the Dedman School of Hospitality and the College of Business. Marissa also created and implemented strategies for identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding major gifts.

Marissa Langston has a master's degree in marketing from Florida State University - College of Business and a bachelor's degree in finance/real estate from Florida State University - College of Business.

Marissa Langston works with Jim Clark - Provost & EVP, Academic Affairs, Michael Alford - VP, Director of Athletics, and Janet Kistner - Vice President for Faculty Development and Advancement. Marissa Langston reports to Richard McCullough, President.
