Stephen Hegarty is an accomplished engineering and project management professional with extensive experience in the oil, gas, and renewable energy sectors. Currently serving as Package Manager at Flotation Energy since November 2023, Stephen oversees critical subcontract scopes for a commercial scale floating wind development. Stephen founded Solutions Subea Ltd in October 2013, providing consultancy services to the industry, and held key positions at various companies, including Project Engineer Manager at EDF Renewables UK & Ireland and Lead Engineer roles at Rever Offshore and SSE plc, among others. With a background in managing substantial projects and teams, Stephen has effectively overseen budgets, risk mitigation, and engineering delivery, demonstrating a strong commitment to advancing offshore renewable energy. Stephen holds a BEng Hons in Marine Technology with a specialization in Offshore Engineering from Newcastle University.

Our existing portfolio of projects in development includes fixed bottom offshore windfarms (480MW Morecambe; 1200 MW Greystones; 1,500 MW Seadragon) and floating offshore windfarms (100MW White Cross, 1,500 MW Blackwater and up to 500 MW Green Volt). Flotation Energy plc was established in 2018 by Allan MacAskill and Nicol Stephen. We have offices in the UK (Scotland), Australia, Taiwan and Japan.
