VP of Molecular Diagnostics at Flow Health

Helmie Teketay, MS, MB (ASCP), CLS (CA/FL/LA/HI) has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and companies. Starting in 2011, Helmie worked at Saint Cloud State University as a Laboratory Technologist/Animal Researcher, gaining three years of experience in animal research and working with in vivo and in vitro systems. Helmie also served as a Research Assistant, assisting in animal research procedures and maintaining laboratory files and logs.

In 2014, Helmie joined MNG Laboratories as a Molecular Biology Lab Technologist. In this role, Helmie performed next-generation sequencing, operated Illumina Hiseq instruments, and conducted sequence analysis using Mutation Surveyor DNA Variant Analysis Software. Helmie also performed DNA extractions and quantifications, manual and automated PCR, and sanger sequencing.

In 2016, Helmie transitioned to AKESOgen, Inc. as a Research Associate and eventually became a Laboratory Operations Manager. Helmie's responsibilities included overseeing laboratory operations, managing laboratory processes, and conducting research as a senior and lead research associate.

Currently, Helmie holds the position of VP of Molecular Diagnostics at Flow Health, where Helmie previously served as the Director of Molecular Diagnostics and Laboratory Manager. Helmie's main responsibilities include molecular diagnostics and managing laboratory operations.

Throughout Helmie's career, they have demonstrated expertise in molecular biology techniques, laboratory management, and research methodologies. Helmie's extensive work experience and diverse roles make them a valuable asset in the field of diagnostics and research.

Helmie Teketay, MS, MB (ASCP), CLS (CA/FL/LA/HI) completed a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Science from Saint Cloud State University from 2006 to 2009. Continuing their education, they attained a Master's degree in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology from the same university from 2011 to 2014.
