Idriss Al Rifai

Co-Founder & CEO at Flow48

Idriss Al Rifai began their work experience in 2002 as an Administrative and legal advisor at the Ministry of Defence in France. Idriss later took on roles as a Political advisor and analyst within the ministry until 2008. In 2009, they worked as a Summer Intern at the Education for Employment Foundation. From 2010 to 2012, Rifai worked as a Consultant at The Boston Consulting Group. In 2012, they founded Fetchr, a platform that helps businesses launch and grow eCommerce ventures. Idriss served as the CEO until 2020. From 2012 to 2018, Rifai also briefly worked as the Director of Operations at MarkaVIP. In 2020, they became the Chief Strategy & Data Officer at Glovo, a Barcelona-based startup specializing in deliveries. Finally, in 2022, Rifai co-founded Flow48 and assumed the role of Co-Founder & CEO. Flow48 offers alternative financing options to SMEs in the Gulf region through a Revenue Based Finance framework.

Idriss Al Rifai has a diverse educational background with qualifications in various fields. Idriss obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Economics and International Studies from Sciences Po, which they completed from 1997 to 2001. During their time at Sciences Po, Idriss also studied Social Sciences at the University of California, Riverside from 1998 to 1999.

Idriss then pursued further studies in Arabic language and literature at the Institut national des langues et civilisations orientales (Inalco) from 2003 to 2006.

In 2008, Idriss enrolled in two separate educational programs. Idriss attended the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, where they achieved an MBA in International Business from 2008 to 2010. Idriss also participated in the Fulbright Student Program at the University of Pennsylvania for a brief period in the same year.

Prior to these academic pursuits, Idriss completed their high school education at Lycee Bellevue, where they obtained their Baccalaureate Litteraire (Bac L) - Mention Tres Bien in 1997.

Overall, Idriss Al Rifai has demonstrated a commitment to interdisciplinary learning and has acquired significant knowledge in Economics, International Studies, Arabic language and literature, as well as International Business.
