Rok Garbas has extensive work experience in the software engineering field. Rok started their career as a Developer at Asolsme in 2007 before transitioning to freelance work in 2008. As a Freelancer, Rok worked as a consultant on various open source projects, specializing in server management, Python (back-end) development, and JavaScript (front-end) development.
In 2014, Rok joined RhodeCode as a Python Developer, where they implemented a new tool called Nix for managing development, testing, and deployment environments. Rok also helped port software to Cygwin and created a Windows Installer using Inno Setup.
From 2015 to 2016, Rok worked as a Python Developer at Shoppimon, and from 2016 to 2020, they worked as a Release Engineer at Mozilla. In their role at Mozilla, Rok was responsible for managing and executing software releases.
In 2020, Rok joined Tweag I/O as a Senior Software Engineer, where they worked until 2022. During this time, they contributed to the development of various projects.
Currently, Rok is working as a Software Engineer at Flox, a position they started in 2023.
Throughout their work experience, Rok has gained expertise in software engineering, release management, Python development, and server management.
Rok Garbas attended Gimnazija Jozeta Plecnika from 1998 to 2002, but did not receive a degree or specify a field of study during this period. Later, from 2002 to 2007, Rok Garbas enrolled at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. Although they did not complete their degree, their field of study was Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering.
